Sunday 27th April - Final Preparations

Today dawns still, damp and calm -- the weather that is. The London2Paris rowing team are starting to get excited and apprehensive at the same time.

Why not meet the team on our web site Click Here to see who the intrepid 10 rowers and 2 members of the support team are.

With less than 6 days to go preparations are pushing on. Nigel has attended a cold water survival course and will now be the fount of knowledge should someone get an unscheduled immersion. Today Colin is taking a VHF radio course meaning we'll have 4 qualified operators in our team.

Me I'm updating the blog, preparing food for the race and generally trying to double & triple check the equipment and supplies already prepared.

This evening we have the "Bon Voyage" party at the Royal Oak pub in Langstone. The team will most likely be abstaining from the beer but encouraging everyone else to enjoy and generously donate and sponsor the team for uor chosen charities!!

More chatterings to come and if the technology works we should be able to update this blog during the race!!

We are raising money for Life Saving Charities will you Sponsor us?

The Langstone Lifesavers Fund: The L2P team has set a target of raising £50,000 (€65,000) for charities with a common theme – saving lives. Our first charities, which we hopefully won’t need on our trip, are the RNLI and the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer; both charitable funds that save lives at sea. Our nominated Land-based lifesaving charities included are the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

Please sponsor our efforts in this race by clicking on the links above and give generously.

Thanks in advance
