Two Days to go - time to load the safety boats

With only two days to go the rowers are all packed and ready for the off -- how do I know this?

Well as lead support I now have all of their bags and all of the food and supplies ready for the race. Today Nigel (the other support team member) and I will be driving to Ramsgate to meet with Mike and Lance Oram (Dover Sea School) who are providing the safety boats. The plan is to load everything onto Sea Satin, our safety boat and get it all squared away ready for Friday. It's Sea Satin, Lance and his crew who will be navigating and guiding us from London to Paris.

It's going to be an experience and I believe the whole team are ready to row! The levels of excitment, trepidation and "what have I got myself into?" were evident yesterday when I met the crew.

So good luck crew and good luck to "Le Figarow" our competition. Let's hope the weather is kind and the winds fair to light!

We are raising money for Life Saving Charities will you Sponsor us?

The Langstone Lifesavers Fund: The L2P team has set a target of raising £50,000 (€65,000) for charities with a common theme – saving lives. Our first charities, which we hopefully won’t need on our trip, are the RNLI and the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer; both charitable funds that save lives at sea. Our nominated Land-based lifesaving charities included are the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

Please sponsor our efforts in this race by clicking on the links above and give generously.

Thanks in advance
